Invisalign Transparent Dental Aligners

Each individual situation has unique needs, so treatment times may vary from one patient to another. However, there is a five-step process followed for every Invisalign treatment. Here’s what that process looks like:

Step 1 – Make an appointment with your dentist

Give our team a call to set up a free initial consultation. One of our Invisalign professionals will help you choose the best course of treatment for your unique needs. During this consultation, we will also take bite impressions, which are sent directly to the team at Invisalign.

Step 2 – Your dental aligners are made

Your bite impressions are then transformed into a tailor-made series of removable, clear aligners, thanks to 3D imaging technology. Because every person’s needs are different, you may have anywhere from 12-48 sets of aligners.

Step 3 – You receive your first set of Invisalign aligners

You will then receive your initial set of dental aligners. At this appointment, we answer any and all questions you may have and equip you for success with your aligners. You will likely be given a few extra sets to wear before you return for your follow-up appointment.

Step 4 – Wearing your new aligners 

Typically, Invisalign patients wear each set of aligners for approximately two weeks at a time. You wear the aligners constantly, aside from drinking, eating, brushing, and flossing.

You will have follow-up appointments every 6 weeks or so, so that we can check your progress. The total time of treatment will be anywhere from 12-18 months, but some patients begin to see results as early as 3 months into the treatment.

Step 5 – Finalizing the treatment

Once you have worn each set of your Invisalign aligners, your treatment is complete. To help you retain your new smile, we will give you retainers to wear for about six months, at night only.
